Armonia International Foundation of Arts
was founded in August 2005, after a long and accurate preparation created
by the chief protagonist who is Roberto Sasso, deviser of the initiative
and today President of the Foundation.
Thanks to his intense professional work and to his continued dedication in the field
of artistic printing, he made friendships, based on sincere esteem, with some highly
valued artists belonging to the world of international contemporary art.
World-famous artists, directors of museums, experts of contemporary art, studious
of history of art who have reached Gaeta and the surrounding territory only for
professional reasons, have been “seduced“ by the charm of the places and also by
the warm welcome received from Roberto Sasso. The enthusiasm and the atmosphere
of “harmony” made even the working hours pleasant, all this has transformed this,
what at the beginning has been considered only a vague dream, into a real necessity
to link those names to the places with the specific aim to make of Gaeta an International
Centre of Art.
Essential has been the moral, psychological and operating support received from
some persons belonging to this place, with them Roberto is linked by a close friendship;
particularly one should be mention: Nicola Del Roscio, his experience is considered
as a fundamental and precious contributor for the birth of the Foundation.
The idea was to constitute, in Gaeta, a foundation able to unite world-famous artists
and young talents in order to promotion art and diffusion in this region, under
the directives of a Scientific Committee which has the objective to guarantee high
quality for each exhibitions and event promoted by the Foundation.
Members of the Scientific Committee of Armonia International
of Art are: the painters Cy Twombly and Gottfried
Helnwein;
Eugenia Petrova, Scientific Director of the State Museum of Saint
Petersburg; Gabriella Belli, Director of MART at Rovereto,
Larry Gagosian, Manager of an art gallery in London; New York and Rome,
Jean Claude Marcadè and Rosella Caruso, art historians
and the writer Diana
Picasso.
Armonia Foundation is a non-profit
foundation and his principal object is based on the promotion of events, the research
and the study of culture and art considering every kind of art expression and also
the organization of social activities and promotions. Based on those objects, the
Foundation works in order to catch the new national and international trends in
art with the intend to observe and analyse the evolution of the customs and of the
whole artistic world.
Thanks to the activities of the Foundation the world-famous artists and intellectuals,
together with the new talents, has allowed the opportunity to widen and perform
in-depth studies and researches, to create new operas, to reach a wide impassioned
public eye and art experts and also to be able to contact the most prestigious public
and private institutions: ART, is considered an excellent field of experimentation,
an opportunity to elaborate the new language of contemporary art.
The operative office of Armonia International Foundation
of Art is located in the ”Centro Leonardo” situated in Gaeta
and the Foundation is actually operated in collaboration with some Institutes of
the Region, using available public facilities in case of need. For the near future
the foundation is looking for new locations adequate for every kind of event or
exhibition: they are considering the utilisation of some locations which are State
property situated in the area of Gaeta, initiative which, without any doubt, could
contribute to give a high valorisation and revival to all the Historical places
still forgotten.
